Hampton
Located on the southeast end of the Virginia peninsula, Hampton is one of the oldest cities in the United States. In here you will find Buckroe Beach and Park, which is an eight-acre area of sandy beaches, a children playground, picnic tables and grills available, a bike and walking path and a large parking area. Once again, this is a great destination if you're vacationing with the whole family, and with certified lifeguards working daily in the summer months, you don't have to worry about your little ones going playing around. In the summer you will also find concerts and outdoors movies are played, which are a great option if you want to have some fun at the end of the day without having to go far. Buckroe Beach was a very popular destination in the late 19th century and the first half of the 20th century, mostly owing the amusement park that was built here. Although the park now is long gone, you can still go visit the cool old lighthouse, which was built as a part of the park. Cape Charles Beach
Located 10 miles north of the Cheasapeake Bay Bridge, the historic part of Cape Charles offers access to a public beach through two wooden runways. This is a great family vacation destination, and with its shallow, calm waters, it's perfect for bringing little children and give them the first taste of the ocean. Cape Charles is a perfect place for you if you want to get away from some of the more crowded destinations in the state.
