Rip tides at Panama City Beach Florida.
by: john settlemire

Last tuesday 5-24-11 at PCB i was caught up in a rip tide, it was a fight for my life, i'm just an average guy, first time to Florida in 21 years, there was a yellow flag flying on the beach. So i thought i just needed to be cautious, little did i know the rip tides were so strong.I am a good swimmer i thought, but this rip tide nearly took my life. this experience has changed my life. So before you let anyone you care about enter the waters make sure they understand just how very dangerous it is.Be aware of the flag system, and what each flag means, take the steps to learn how to get out of a rip tide if you ever get caught up in one. Have fun, just be aware of what could happen if your not prepared.
