Kite Flying at the Beach
Kite Flying is a great way to spend time at the beach. Whether you are flying a kite you made at home from a paper bag or are participating in one of the large kite flying competitions, flying a kite is one of the great all time beach activities. Since I live in Washington State, the Washington State International Kite Festival is my favorite festival. KiteLife.com calls this “the greatest, grandest, Kite Festival on the North American continent!”
Each year the third week in August sees the skies a blaze of color on the Long Beach Peninsula. Tens of thousands of spectators take in the show and participate with their own high-flying kite.
