Enjoying New Jersey Beaches

Residents from New York City, New Jersey, Philadelphia, and beyond have long made New Jersey Beaches a destination of choice. The famed "Jersey Shore" attracts people from all walks of life, with nearly as many interests and tastes! Whether you're an ardent sun worshiper, or someone just looking to enjoy coastal scenery, beaches in the Garden State will not disappoint. You'll find ones suited to all types of tastes, and ones that will fit your budget and vacation goals ideally with just a little research. Ocean City Region Some of the best-known beaches in NJ are in the Ocean City vicinity. Names like Wildwood, Cap May, And Seaside heights all come immediately to mind. - Wildwood beach is free (you don't need any type of resident pass). This particular region has often been voted among the best beaches in the US. It is not, however, quiet by any means. You'll find young families here, college students on break, etc. The activity level is very high along with the energy. You'll find people windsurfing; kite flying, and even monster truck rallies nearby. - Cape May is a little more laid back than Wildwood. Here you have a coastal town with tons of charm. If you're not into sunbathing, you can go to a movie, enjoy a theatrical presentation, fish, or listen to a wandering musician. - Seaside Heights hits yet another demographic: the boardwalk crowd. Arcades, casino, nightlife - you name it, they've got it (oh, and did I mention a great beach too!). Quieter Beaches
For those visitors looking for some down time where the city is "close" but not "in your face" Spring Lake might be ideal. This region reminds me of where you might go for some peace of mind - very tranquil and wonderful and very safe for children. Another option along these lines for less harried New Jersey beaches would be Long Beach Island. The locals know this place well. Whenever the main shores crowd up, the natives turn to Long beach Island as their own "hidden" secret. The beach is a nice quality too. Atlantic City Region Atlantic city is a wild place, filled with everything you'd expect in a casino tourist town. However, if you travel 6 miles North to Brigantine you'll find the associated beaches aren't as jam-packed. Here you're close enough to get a taste of the City and far enough not to feel crowded. It's a very short drive, so you won't miss a beat of nightlife! Sandy Hook Beach
If you love nature and amazing scenery, you’ll find you’re in good company. This is among the most popular of New Jersey beaches. With a barrier peninsula that spans 1,600 plus acres – it’s not surprising. When combined with the nearby town of Sandy Hook and its great diners, the location cannot be beat. Smaller Children For families with young children New Jersey beaches offer something special, small shallow bays like Margate and Bayville. Here your children can play in mild surf with you close by.
